What began as a love of pizza, soon evolved into a mission to find the best pizza, in the best city - Philadelphia. And so we ate our way through the neighborhoods of Philly, the surrounding burbs, and the shore, to learn that Philly Pizza is actually an art. The discovery of techniques from Roman style ‘Al-Taglio’ to the crispy thin Neapolitan-style crusts, to the native NJ Tomato Pie, created an awareness that Philly is actually the underdog of pizza cities. We house some of the most talented pizzaiolos (master pizza chefs), trained in Rome, Naples and all over the world, who don’t just feed our bellies, they feed our souls.
And so Pizzadelphia was born,
with the mission to share with the world that
So now, we are just out here...
2019 ChariTABLE PARTNERS
To date, Pizzadelphia, through the support of its Pizzerias and Sponsors, has raised more than $22,000 to help fight hunger in Philadelphia.
In 2019 the Pizzadelphia supported two local charities: Coalition Against Hunger and the Pennsylvania Restaurant & Lodging Association (PRLA). While Pizzadelphia serves to bring a community of pizza makers and pizza lovers together, we also aim to do good in the community and give back. This past year, Pizzadelphia II was able to deliver a $7,500 check to the Coalition Against Hunger's food pantry programs. A second check in the amount of $7,500 was delivered to the PRLA's scholarship fund. Learn more about each of partners below.
Here's to making a difference... one slice at a time.
Imagine the courage it takes to pick up the phone, call a total stranger and admit that you don't have enough food to feed your family.
With the Coalition Against Hunger this happens dozens of times per day, and it is what drives them. Hunger hits every zip code and chances are strong that you know someone who faces or has faced hunger, even if they have never voiced their struggle. For more than two decades the Coalition have fought hunger in the Greater Philadelphia region with one guiding principle. Hunger is preventable.
Mission: Founded in 1996, the Greater Philadelphia Coalition Against Hunger strives to build a community where all people have the food they need to lead healthy lives. The Coalition connects people with food assistance programs and nutrition education; provides resources to a network of food pantries; and educates the public and policymakers about responsible solutions that prevent people from going hungry.
While satisfying our desire to devour delicious pizza, Pizzadelphia Fest also feeds the community. Pizzadelphia II will benefit the Pennsylvania Restaurant and Lodging Association’s (PRLA) scholarship fund that provides financial assistance to Pennsylvania students interested in furthering their education in the hospitality industry. Our goal is to assist the next generation of Philadelphia area chefs in their quest to elevate their skills and at the same time Philadelphia's vast culinary scene.
Pizzadelphia is a celebration of our pizza makers, pizza lover and all things pizza.
