Fred Walp is the Executive Chef at Itri Wood Fired Pizza Bar. Fred started his culinary career as a teenager. He's done dish, line, sous...you name it. However, when he started at Itri, the owners, Greg and Dana Pezza, soon recognized a rare combo in Fred. He was extremely talented, smart, ambitious, and reliable. Fred has been Executive Chef for over a year. During this time Itri has won a number of awards from Opentable, to Yelp, to Google. But perhaps most rewarding was winning the Bucks Happening List in 2019 for Best Pizza.
Fred's philosophy on Pizza is simple, "..;the more local, the better. Although we promote a Neapolitan style, Neapolitan pizza is phenomenal in Naples because it's in Naples. It's about sourcing the ingredients nearby. Their methods are to be studied, but their ingredients are no better than what we have to offer in our area. It's just a matter of finding them." Fred loves to experiment with many flavors and styles and believes when it comes to Pizza, there are no "rules."
